This definition is related to the fundamental principle of universal accessibility in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities^[13], which outlines the requirements to be fulfilled by environments, processes, goods, products and services, objects, instruments, tools and devices in order to be understandable, usable and viable for all people in safe and comfortable conditions, and as independently and naturally as possible.

Note 2

This definition also refers to ISO 26800, which states the extent to which products, systems, services, environments and facilities can be used by people from a population with the widest range of characteristics and capabilities to achieve a specified goal in a specified context of use.
