An individual project can form part of a larger project structure and generally has a defined start and finish date.

In some projects the objectives and scope are updated and the product (3.7.6) or service (3.7.7)characteristics (3.10.1) defined progressively as the project proceeds.

The output (3.7.5) of a project can be one or several units of product or service.

The project’s organization (3.2.1) is normally temporary and established for the lifetime of the project.
